Umbrum are a subspecies of unicorn corrupted by dark magic thousands of years ago. Their physical appearance can vary greatly, but the most basic mutations that nearly every Umbrum unicorn has are slit pupils, a sharp curved horn, and fangs. Crystal growths and crystallized limbs are also a common sight. These traits are hereditary and are ed on to offspring, but most of these features only show later on in their lives.
There comes a point in an Umbrum’s lifespan where they’re incapable of aging like the typical equine. Most commonly after their mid twenties to early fourties, their bodies no longer show natural signs of wear and decay. But in very rare circumstances, An Umbrum unicorn will cease aging far before their prime.
INHALE Okay, that’s all out of the way. Now I’mma do a very brief overview of the ponies shown here.
Ruby
Single momma horse of Sombra and Ombre. She has a few loose screws in the head, but is nurturing and tries her best to always do the right thing. Give her a sugarcube and tell her she’s a good mom.
Finne
Childhood buddy of Sombra. As you can see, he cannot. He’s pretty darn blind. But he still finds his way around okay. He’s constantly stressed and anxious. Aren’t we all.
Ombre
Ruby’s daughter and Sombra’s big sis. She likes to collect shiny things and then wear those shiny things. She also likes to boss ponies around and be sassy.
Minke
A grumpy old lady in the body of an 11 year old filly. She’s one of the oldest Umbrum unicorns still alive. She usually keeps to herself and spends most of her time alone. Stay off of her lawn.
Fenneke
Another childhood friend of Sombra’s. She’s got the worse possible genetic mutations. She can’t talk, she has bad eyesight, she can barely walk… she can’t do much of anything really. A mostly harmless pony all-together. Pet her and tell her everything’s gonna be okay.
I love Evehly’s new stuff, but it’d be so cool to see more of Sombra’s mom and sister.
I wonder how things would go if they met Fluttershy? Or maybe one of Sombra’s kids?
Fenneke looks like something out of some kind of lovecraftian horror story.
