I went back and rewatched the episode, nothing Spike says implies he’s never seen Luster before, just that he was unaware of her… philosophy. In addition, genetically, Starlight’s dad carries a lot of the traits luster does, including Eye color, tail pattern, and tail shape. It is still my firm belief that Luster Dawn was designed to be, and the conclusion intended to be drawn, that she was related to these two.
