Thank you! And yeah, they really made the show interesting to me again once they ed in! I was starting to loose some interest in the show, but the students were such fun characters in their first episode that I wanted to see more of them! As for Gallus, that’s why he’s my favorite of the students (well, one of my reasons). He got such great development and depth in the short amount of time he was in the show, it was irable. I really do think that if anyone deserves a spin-off series, it’s the Student 6. It’s especially a shame that we didn’t get insight on their elements to succeed the Mane 6, and only got them confirmed right in the background of the last song of the show.

Agreed. Plus it was just nice to see different characters for a change. No mane six hate but there’s only so many times I can see Fluttershy do the same thing until I get bored of it.
Well said. The Student 6 were a breath of fresh air in the show, and I actually think that they should have gotten more development than they did. Gallus definitely got some development that explained a lot about his character, hence why he was topping the tag counts for the Student 6 for a few months until Sweet & Smoky aired. There was so much potential with those characters and, to me, it feels like they were canned before they could really shine.

Unless /mlp/ somehow manages to not find out about it at all until it’s too late, I doubt containing it to the forums will save it if they care at all.

First off, there are lots of characters in this series that could be removed and are still considered great characters by the fandom. MLP is a slice of life show. It doesn’t need to have every character tie into a narrative.
And either way, the student six DO have a point. They are meant to show how Twilight wants to expand friendship across lands that don’t really know enough about it. Which comes full circle when they end up helping to save Equestria twice.
Second, I don’t think they’re copy pasted from the mane 6. Gallus and Yona are their own characters, I don’t know how can you think they’re a copy paste of any of the mane 6. They have similarities, but are not identical. Sandbar, Silverstream, Smolder and Ocellus are more similar to characters of the Mane 6, that’s true, but I still think they’re very likable in their own right, with their unique backstories and likable quirks. And I absolutely love the Student Six friendship more than the Mane 6 friendship tbh, even if the Mane 6 obviously have the better written characters. My reasons are all very subjective, and I don’t think I can convince you to appreciate them just because I do. But to say that Gallus, Sandbar, and Silverstream should’ve been voted off in the first round to random characters that aren’t in the show, that to me is such an unjustified thing to say.

You’re right that not a lot of s visit the forum but that is the point because /mlp/ would love to sabotage mr and miss derpibooru “just for the lol” and they would start with bots and proxies in the first day that the poll appear in the featured image.

Not everyone regularly visits the forums (I don’t, for example), so I was thinking something of a pinned announcement similarly to the recent naming poll for the Sphinx and others. You’re probably right though, I’m guessing enough people do visit the forums that it’ll work well enough anyway.

Honestly, that is a good idea. I’d really like to see what a Miss and Mr Derpibooru would look like.
Would probably need to get the mods involved to make it official, though, otherwise there’s no real way to reach any significant portion of the s.

Sometimes I regret to not visit that place because I would posted this contest in the first day so we can also participate and vote in the contest.
At least gallus and sandbar would surely beat their opponent with our help. I’m still mad how Gallus lost to a no one that the fandom don’t even know and sandbar lost to a character of The Simpson

Yeah, it’s why I think that this Miss MLP and Mr MLP stuff should be done in another site, that shows votes from the fandom that actually make sense.
/mlp/ is a cesspool, that’s why. Don’t forget they’re a haven for political incorrectness. They chose to see the Student 6 as a hamfisted message on diversity rather than a natural and logical progression of expanding the show’s lore via representatives of other races (who, in this context, are different species, which is quite interesting), and proceeded to hate the Student 6 for that reason alone instead of appreciating their qualities.
They’re some of my favorite characters on the show due to their mutual respect and curiosity for/of each other’s cultures.
