And why is every kingdom or nation outside of Equestria just a city state? One thing that they tend to be very loose on is whether or not those places inhabited by other species are part of Equestria, or are they their own?
It just screams laziness on world building. Certainly didn’t help that 90% of the show literally only takes place in PONYVILLE with the same dumb rehashed “fRieNdShIp lEsSoNs” every few episode cycles and a dumb fandom that’ll eat everything they throw. It feels like wasted potentials left and right. A show staff that seemed content on keeping the show dumbed down.

Ugh, yeah, the kirins. From what I’ve seen in the episode, the kirins and their little village was more stereotypically tribalistic in the South African or African jungle sense compared to the species name that Hasbro has given them. In all honesty, they should of just changed the kirins into a tribe of nomadic pegasus, earth, and unicorn ponies at that rate.
And the Indian cuisine part was my absolute jealousy as Hasbro touched on no other type of food, especally refusing to touch Asian foods. Imagine getting an episode or a short scene where the mane six or some background pony or two were just sitting down eating Chinese food from takeout boxes? I’d love to screenshot that.
Mistmane’s existence and everything involving it was, in general, kind of a spit in the face to those who wanted Asian culture in M.L.P. It’s basically Hasbro saying “Hey, this unicorn is Asian! But, we’re not gonna clarify what type of Asian, ever.”

Kirins… Aside from their physical designs and inspiration. There’s nothing “eastern” about them.
It’s funny how they have an entire episode depicting Indian pony cuisine. But absolutely no depiction of Chinese pony foods whatsoever, not even in Mistmane’s backstory.
I don’t even think Mistmane’s village was even the real far east in their world. Just a cultural offshoot similar to Chinatowns/Japantowns irl.

Movies and cartoons about these strange ape like creatures called “Man” are popular. The industry is particularly big in the region, but has a huge overseas market too.
Additionally, I hate how their first and only attempt on the more Chinese or Japanese themes was, in my opinion, disgustingly underlying unicorn-supremist (elite race) depiction and with said unicorns for no reason at all having curved horns that sported no reason or benefit to be there.
Basically, unicorns got so tiring that seeing Mistmane and her nation the way that it was is kinda disappointing.
This is absolutely beautiful and I’m making it my desktop’s wallpaper and my Discord profile banner. I just can’t even with how amazing it is, especially with how it’s stationed in my favorite place, Japan! Or in this case: Jockpan.

I’m afraid that whatever you’re trying to show me isn’t loading up properly. What was it? Did you animate it?
