Yeah no shit sherlock anybody can be racist. But there’s a difference between individual racism and institutional racism. Most people are talking about the latter in an American context. Because that’s really the only relevant kind in an American context. And whites and the concept of whiteness are a factor of institutional racism in an American context.
I know. What I’ve learned from having friends from all over the world is that anyone can be racist, and white people don’t have exclusive rights to racism.
What I find funny about the whole Applejack is a racist thing is how the conceit in-and-of-itself is racist: all southern white Americans are apparently racist. You need a racist caricature in order to make racist caricatures.
