The problem is that in G4, the tech tree was obviously low-tier Schizo Tech, meaning that it’s a thinly-veiled comparison that is centered around Ponies trying to solve the problem in their own way which makes G4 feel like it is timeless. In G5, the tech tree between that world and ours is 1:1, meaning that for whatever reason texting and touchscreens just work for hooves for some reason, and it serves as an unnerving visual distraction and unfortunately serves to Date G5 and make it feel like a product of the time period it was made in.
Well now that it’s been revealed that it takes place probably centuries later from G4, it would make sense why technology would move on to modern amenities such as smartphones and the like.
I never said I approved of them using any technology. So let’s think, how can they use a smart phone when they have NO fingers. So OP being retarded again for trolling

Even arcade games have a “retro” feel having existed since the 70es and predominant late 20th century before the advent of cheap personal computers. Smartphones however exclusively modern and “contemporary” suggesting the show may be trying for a very “contemporary” instead of a more retro feel.

Theres a difference between one off tech stuff and a smartphone. Why do people not realize this. A smartphone is much more powerful than random basses. The only technology the mane 6 used was Twilight’s weird contraption and pinkie with helicopters.

I think this is an invented controversy. I’m not saying such posts don’t exist, but they’re so rare that the should be ignored and/or assumed to be trolling. We need a new law of the internet: People are a 10000 times more likely to post if they hate something, so if 1/1000 people hate something, it looks like it’s a majority.
