Interesting, although I can see an issue – that of clogging of the shoe ‘holes’. If there’s one thing that horse shoes collect, it’s filth. Lots and lots of filth.
Ban military horseshoes! Nobody needs rotating attachments that can kill a thousand of babies per second!
Seriously though, if the sword rotates freely, you can’t hit with force (the force will go into rotation) and it will fall off once it reaches the location where the pins align with the slots.
Interesting thought. Works for tools, but hardly for weapons given the nature of combat and the fact that such a system is affixed to the underside of the hoof, making movement problematic.
Additionally, how does the rotation work on the military variants? If it’s free to move from any force it’s useless as, with nothing to brace against, it would simply turn in the hoof locks.
