Well, unless he nearly sell the Mane Six. But Tempest Shadow arrived to caged or freeze Twilight into a statue, it looks Capper wants to replace the Mane Six with Tempest as a distraction. But unfortunately, Tempest distract Verko and order the guards or soldiers to seize Twilight. That leads to Capper tricked Tempest and Grubber by telling them that the Mane Six went east to seek help from a ruler of Black Skull Island instead of a ruler in Mount Aris/Seaquestria down south. Of course during the escape from Klugetown, we didn’t get to see any of the Storm Creatures chasing the Mane Six through Klugetown. We didn’t get to see one of the Storm Creatures almost caught Twilight by the tail with their bare hands or missed a target with one of their obsidian orbs. Or one of the Storm Creatures fell to their death or hit something so painful like Banzai/Kamari in The Lion King or one of the other hyenas in the 2019 live-action remake or one of wolves of the Wolf Pack seen in Storks which is released a year before the My Little Pony movie was released.

That’s the thing. Capper wasn’t trying to help the Mane Six the first time he met them. He only planned on selling them. All his friendly exterior during this whole song was a lie. Plus it is kind of hard to trust someone you just met who’s suddenly so friendly to you when everyone else in town isn’t. If you’re talking about Capper ing forces with the Mane Five and fighting Storm King’s army, Twilight did trust him at that moment and still trusts him now. That’s why she sent Capper to spread friendship in Abyssinia
@Blazewing
Then why Twilight didn’t trust Capper? He was just trying to help the Mane Six save Equestria from the Storm King. Especially since her conquered Capper’s old home of Abyssinia.

Twilight didn’t trust Capper at this point, and to be fair, he was planning to sell them to Verko to pay off his debt, but he regretted it after Rarity fixed his coat.
@Wayneponeth
Yeah. But why isn’t Twilight dancing even though she told them not too later on in the third act of the film? Capper was actually just trying to help the Mane Six.
Oh, sure, they’re all walking in sync, but what about their heads? I find it curious that Pinkie Pie is the only one who seems to be matching Rarity. Is this some sort of subtle statement regarding her capacity for grace and poise?
