It’s a cartoon. Cartoons are supposed to be about exaggeration. Even the dramatic ones and the ones about serious topics. In this premise, all three kinds of ponies have been misguided. But it’s a believable misguided that the Canter Logic failures parody in a funny way.
I don’t know what he’s talking about. I think this gag is more funny instead of stupid.
This could be fun if it was serious, but it was not. This is pure caricature where you want to show the earth ponies as an example that prejudice, racism and fear like aggression make people stupid. We know this is wrong, the only thing this shows is how the earth ponies humiliate themselves with such stupidity. For old fans and others who want to see ponies at their best whether these are stupid, kind, evil - it’s too much. A little too much of what has happened in the US, and we do not need this in Equestria.
It’s not funny when people are stupid. This is overkill. If the villains from the G4 saw these, they would laugh to death while everyone else would just stare and shudder at this. It was only when Sunny appeared to get better, only to see that Phyllis would not cancel the test and that no one protested until Hitch intervened, when Sunny was put in great danger.
If the G5 is to survive - such exaggerations must not happen again.
How much stupidity can we have in the movie? It just gets too ridiculous with all this around the earth ponies in this sequence that seems to have happened right after Sunny and Izzy ran off to the lighthouse. Poor pony, but it seems that Phyllis is a bigger threat to her own than others. It’s not funny to see such demonstrative stupidity!
P.S. I’ll be surprised as f**k if it turns out that’s true.
Crazy theory, but if the heroes managed to restore harmony between the tribes, there’s probably going to be a where we see Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi hanging out together. Maybe one of these scene will show that poor guy being rescued by Pegasi?
