My theory is that 4chan represents humanity concentrated to its base elements.
The majority of what 4chan does and is is horrific, stupid and unfunny, however, every once and a while, 4chan creates something beautiful, hilarious and, some would argue, intelligent.

It is entirely possible - indeed, it is a very sane perspective to have - that 4Chan can be a conglomerate of many shitsacks and still have produced a fandom. Facts be facts.
Also worth noting? 4Chan kicked out the Bronies and we found our promised land. They tried to stop it and failed, so either way it matters little.
