Well, her past actions could also be discovered if she actually gets caught in the act for once, like maybe getting caught trying to take Sparky again.
I’d like to think that Misty’s character arc isn’t that predictable. Though Misty has bonded with the Mane 5, it’s been pretty minimal. A small scene in episode 6, a tiny scene in a Tell Your Tale episode. Otherwise, she’s mostly been pushing them away, either to avoid being found out or because she’s incredibly determined to get her cutie mark. I don’t think Misty has gotten to the point where she’s genuinely torn between making friends with the Mane 5, or staying loyal to Opaline to get a cutie mark. At least not yet.
As for the Mane 5, I know for a fact that they’ll forgive her, though I don’t know if it would be right away. I think it’d be more interesting if some of them didn’t, show more individuality in how they think and approach a complicated situation. The only one who I know for a would forgive Misty instantly is Izzy.

That’s just the thing, Misty’s character arc is sure to lead her to doing the right thing; she’s begun to doubt Opaline as she grows close to the Mane Five, and she truly doesn’t seem to have it in her to do anything bad of her own accord. Her attempts at theft and kidnapping were ill-fated, undiscovered, and wholly in service to Opaline; the most likely way they’d even become known is by Misty’s own ission alongside a plea for forgiveness, and I believe each of the Mane Five would give her that forgiveness after considering the whole situation.

That’s true. It could go either way–it also will depend on where Misty’s character arc leads her. How many more crimes will she commit before she repents? How many evil deeds are too much for Hitch and the girls to forgive? Will Misty end up doing something bad on her own accord? What kind of relationship will Hitch and Misty have, once they meet? Could they become so close that when the truth comes to light, it feels like a serious betrayal? Even with Misty’s reasons?
Hitch could completely understand why Misty did what she did and that she’s truly a good pony, but he could also be really mad at her, and quite frankly I think he’d be justified. At the end of the day, the only way he really went overboard was with Operation Glitterbomb, where he started harrassing innocent ponies. His fear itself was perfectly justfied.
Like, if someone had killed my mom, but it was because of someone who coerced them into doing so, I’d still be mad at both the executioner and the mastermind.

He was just freaked out because he was worried for Sparky’s safety, and he its he went overboard with it. As for Misty’s actions, everything she did in service to Opaline has a solid defense of coercion and duress which will come to light once her situation with Opaline is revealed, and in light of that Hitch will want to protect Misty and have multiple reasons to bring Opaline to justice.

Given how incredibly freaked out he got when Sparky was kidnapped, AND all the lying and stealing Misty has done otherwise, I think Hitch will be real mad at Misty at first for all her actions. Wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to arrest her.
