Now I’m speechless. He like NSMBW, but hate Sonic 4: Episode 1 (Which, with episode 2, by PoV, I find them to be OK games.) because it’s look 3D. Gonna draw a line on the ground.

Yeah, I it not every Sonic game is “great,” but I really don’t understand the “double-standards” people have with the Sonic series…
I saw a guy completely eviscerating Sonic 4: Episode 1, complaining the trees don’t look the same as in Sonic 1, complaining about the way Sonic looks, the physics, (keep in mind this is before the game even came out, so he hasn’t even played it) and even complaining about how “3D” the game looked… He complained over every subtle thing.
Yet, get this. This same guy loves “New Super Mario Bros. Wii,” never criticized it, and doesn’t seem to mind that it looks 3D-ish, that the physics don’t perfectly match the old games, (in fact, I felt Mairio didn’t move as smoothly in NewSMB as he did in SMB3 & SMW personally.) and such.
(Don’t get me wrong, I love NewSMB games, I just don’t get why people hold Sonic to such ridiculous standards, but not other game series.)

Same BP here Wat?!? Apparently, in SA1 and 2 and many more, he was also souless? Now I’ve seen some big pointless, whiny complaint about, let say… NOTHING!?! Also, I know a little more why Sonic Generation was made, not only for the 20th aniversary, but because of the whiners.
For the Mario, Zelda and Metroid (Except for Other M, which I somewhat like the gameplay, but find the story bad) series have got some changes and these fans don’t complaint that much. But for the Sonic series? nope. Sonic Fans want that it stay the same over and over again. I’ve enjoyed Sonic Heroes. I’ve seen my sister play Sonic Unleash and by a PoV, it’s not a bad game. Sonic Colors, by PoV, a good game. But for Sonic ’06, ugh, how to describe it, have a 3 hours and a half review by a Sonic fan.

Yeah, when they made the original Sonic 2, they wanted to put in 2 major pop-culture references/homages from both Japan, and America in it. Super Sonic was the Japanese one, and the Death Egg was the American one. (And obvious reference to Star Wars.)

I like the green eyes too, and growing up with a friend that would always call Super Sonic a ripoff of Super Saiyan, I loved it as his eyes would change for green to red then, getting him to shut up and understand it was openly a homage to it, so not a ripoff.

It’s especially strange, because people didn’t start complaining about green eyes until nearly a decade sense Sonic first got them… One guy said they make Sonic look “souless.” (I have green eyes IRL, maybe I look “souless” to.) I actually liked the green eyes personally.

I liked the SA characters to. Even Big the Cat. (Yeah, yeah I know his fishing levels sucked, but he was kinda funny/amusing. He was a good fighter in “Sonic Heroes” to.)
Ironically, they got their wish with Sonic 4:Ep.1, but people still griped about that game, for it’s physics not being exactly like Sonic 1, and for odd reasons like Sonic having green eyes.
I seeing a major gaming site, (I can’t which one) listing the top problems with the Sonic series, (which were just typical fanboy-ish reasons) and among them they said the series would be better if they got rid of every character except Sonic & Robotnik. (Which I think is going really overboard. I thought everyone loved Tails & Knuckles personally.) Why do people only criticize Sonic over that? Do people gripe whenever they introduce new enemies/NPCs in Mario games? They also don’t mind games like Zelda & FF always completely changing the cast/setting every game.

Ok, if I see that as they say “Every new character they’ve put in the Sonic universe suck”, I would slap them in the face. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 want to say hi.
