Oh, that’s old old school; I wanna say the first time they called it “Earth” was in Applebuck Season in S1, and I seeing screencaps of people arguing about Earth/Equus from right after it aired.
You can do anything you want with headcanon and No-Prizes, so it doesn’t really matter, people can call it whatever they want in their own art.

I know they don’t call it Equus in the show, but here on derpi there’s a tag for it, so I decided to use it instead. I’m not sure who originated calling their planet Equus, but I like it.
