To elaborate: Our schedules can get pretty packed but we’ve managed to cut down a lot of the busy work by delegating. On top of which, Sunset has the benefit of figuring out how to dreamwalk while she’s asleep so she can help manage Equestria in the day with me! (Although she does need to sleep an extra hour or two to feel fully rested.

I think that it is less about the name (since they are around the same time), and more about their coloration. Sunset is amber colored with red and yellow hair. Bright colors that represent the sun and day time. Meanwhile, Twilight is largely purple. Not as night related as Luna with her night blue, but still darker, which would be connected to night time.
I understand your reasoning. Just pointing out the reasoning that most would make the assumption of it being the other way around.

Nope. That’s how I wrote it too in my stories. My reasoning was that Twilight took over princess duties first and that Sunset was more of a night owl personality ( Don’t let their names fool you.)
