I bought this gadget online (stuck on the front plates myself) so I didn’t quite know the mechanism inside,but I think it uses one electromagnet that switches polarity in a fixed frequency,which pulls and pushes the magnets on the pendulum(the black part that can be seen from under the front limb),thus makes the head tilting.
Using the electromagnet making it completely quiet (which is perfect for a tabletop decoration),but causing its swing highly dependent on voltage,which causing it unstable since it’s solar powered.

I didn’t notice the circuit board in the back. Does this use a voice coil and a magnetic pendulum for the nodding or does it have a traditional motor and crank?
