Yeah I like Cozy and am a huge fan of her potential, but she definitely feels like them wanting to do another filly antagonist but only dedicating a few episodes to her. So we never know what her backstory is or how her family is or any motivation aside from wanting power. We don’t even know if her interest in the school of friendship was genuine and she became corrupted by misinterpreting lessons and talking with Tirek, or if she came to the school with those power-hungry ambitions already in mind. And according to fan questions, the show runnrs never planned on answering anything about her.
Meanwhile we get a glimpse at Diamond’s motivations but then the story glosses over some of the shitty things she’s done as being influenced by her mom and kind of pins the blame for her behavior on Spoiled when some of Diamond’s actions seemed to come from genuine malice towards the Crusaders. But after that episode we just…never see her again outside the comics and silent cameos. Yeah her purpose is to bully the Crusaders for being blank flanks, which can’t happen anymore because they have their cutie marks now, but they never replaced that purpose with anything so Diamond just vanishes afterwards.
