Art sites that store the original use predictable URL schemes. For example, before Tumblr started deleting the original resolution you could remove _1280.png and use _raw.png.
For some sites there are browser extensions that will do this for you, and the er may have never noticed you meant to only share a degraded quality image.
Edit: if for some reason you want to limit the resolution, do it in an image editor before you , and allow people to the original ed file. Better than people scraping degraded re-saved images repeatedly jpegs: https://youtu.be/QEzhxP-pdos
