The tremors were rapidly increasing in strength and intensity, and no one knew why they were happening. Everyone discovered what it was when a gigantic shadow covered the urban area.
Rainbow Dash trotted along with crushing strides that warped the earth as if it were nothing but wet clay. Each step generated a devastating earthquake; the ground cracked and thunderous sounds echoed around the world. But none of that mattered to Rainbow Dash, or perhaps she wasn’t even aware of what was happening beneath her feet. She was more focused on continuing her trot, and the soft, lumpy texture of this strange world was so relaxing and gratifying to walk on that she chose it as the place for her physical activities.
The city’s inhabitants had an incredibly short reaction time, practically none at all. Before they knew it, the sky was replaced by an immensely large, sky-blue sole, dirty, sweaty, and smelly. In a matter of seconds, the foot descended with unimaginable force and slammed into the ground, impacting like a meteorite. The Earth’s crust and continental plate nearly shattered in the process. Chunks of earth and debris flew through the air, and a shockwave devastated the surrounding area, while a deafening roar deafened the millions of people in the surrounding regions.
The crunching sound intrigued Rainbow Dash, but she didn’t dwell on it, focusing instead on her next move. The crushed city vanished, the scant trace of it reduced to a muddy crater-sized footprint where millions of microscopic humans lay squashed like the insignificant insects they had once been.
It was like stepping on dusty mud.
