Hades is both the name of the god there and the place. But it’s not the same as hell,it would be more accurate to say that Hell is like Tartarus,which is part of Hades itself, is actually alot like hell where tortures and the like go on. P:

I thought the Greek underworld encomed their analogues for Hell, Purgatory & Heaven (The Fields of Punishment, Asphodel Meadows & Elysian Fields respectively).
