Pam 119 is a Solar Laboratories android made for directly interfacing with the public. Her original purpose was to be a museum/tour guide, and as such she was built with many pony-like features, and a plethora of information on many different topics.
A lab accident involving a high-powered laser through… well, a decent chunk of her head, resulted in heavy damage to her cerebral circuitry. This cognitive damage, combined with the fact that having a massive hole through one’s face is kind of scary to the average pony, meant that Pam was deactivated until funding could be secured for her repairs. That funding never came, as the company decided it would be too costly for so little return, and she was forgotten amongst piles of her similarly-damaged siblings.
Now again powered-on, Pam’s (relatively) normal personality can shine once more, even if her plating is dull. Pam is a positive, excitable bot, with a great wealth of basic knowledge, but no expertise. Her original purpose lends her access to a wide array of information on a great many topics, and due to her… injury, she’s constantly spouting a near-endless list of “fun facts”. While she enjoys informing others of interesting things, this “fun fact” sharing is an involuntary tic, and often interrupts her own speech, or arises during inconvenient moments.
Besides this, she’s mostly oblivious to what most ponies consider “normal” (beyond faces having two eyes, a fact she’s very aware of), and behaves in somewhat odd ways. Staring off into the distance, making factual but hurtful comments, and constantly grabbing any vaguely eye-shaped object and shoving it into the blast-hole are only a few examples. She’s not intentionally rude, most of the time, but in her defense, she’s had remarkably little time to interact with others properly. Still, she’s quick to make friends, and unless somebody is being directly threatening, she’s just a little gullible. Book smart, not street smart.
