Kong laid down his arms, he laid down the fight, and the two kings—the Gods of Old—went their separate ways. Godzilla spun around, stomping slower than usual back toward the sea. Rest beckoned him, and Godzilla answered its call without another objection, distraction, or conflict. Be it external, or internal. For the first time in weeks, he could rest easy knowing his mind was his once more.
Throughout it all, the onlookers watched on in stunned silence. The royalty, the leadership, the warriors, and even the innocent, with no stake in the war of the gods, witnessed what was unheard of, what was a fabled peace made true. A war raging back millions of years had finally been brought to an end, between the last of their kind.

It wasn’t necessarily the magic of friendship at work, but what they had just seen, what Fluttershy could not believe, the first steps into peace had been made. Peace, and hopefully in the future, something more. So she stood, with her friends Twilight Sparkle, Bon Bon, Sandbar, Celestia, and all the others, holding those expressions of wonder.
And maybe, just a flicker of a smile made its way onto Fluttershy’s lips.
Kong watched him leave, that ancient enemy, and now a being that held Kong’s respect. A being in which he did not quite know what to classify yet. Superior, ally, foe, friend… it would resonate with Kong for what he felt would be years to come. Because he, of all the Titans, sought no more war, no more death or blood. His heart yearned for peace, and from what Godzilla offered him, Kong would honor it.
As long as Godzilla did.
He did not stop watching, he did not take his eyes off of Godzilla, until his dorsal plates slunk into the ocean depths.
