This is the problem. Corporations fighting tooth and claw to “protect kids from NSFW” is not worth invading the privacy of all s, including the kids btw. Kids are going to find ways to look at porn. I did it growing up, everyone of my friends in school did, it’s essentially a part of growing up to do your own self-exploration. Before the internet, we had dirty magazines and DVDs, and those were more heavily restricted because you actually had to buy those from sellers.
Didn’t stop us one bit. We traded shit we found in our parents’ or older siblings’ nightstands. And with the internet, it’s easier now than ever to just search up Rule34, Xvideos and literally millions of other websites for porn. Kids will ALWAYS find a way, and we have to stop trying to completely hinder that element of exploration, particularly when it starts affecting adults too.
Therefore, this is a non-issue being fought by corporations as an excuse to access everyone’s private information. They want our face and IP matched to keep tabs on us, perhaps for AI training or simply to track our activity across platforms. Anyone saying it’s for anything is is truly ignorant. They don’t give a flip about “protecting the kids”.
That’s not how it works, it’s to bar kids from NSFW which is a good thing, its been a issue for years.
Not buying nitro or buying it won’t just magically make the problem disappear..
and no its useful? why would I cancel something when the platform I use daily has so many limits w/o a sub on it..
Invasive? yes but there’s nothing we can do the whole internet is moving for verification to combat issues. having a nitro sub or not clearly is not going to do anything..
