Surprisingly, its not as bad as it used to be. When I first ran screaming from this fandom, it was like 90% nazi cucks by volume. FIMfiction was inundated with Aryanne fics and we were actively having to argue over if it was cool to be a nazi on derpi.
Thankfully, these days, the nazis have to hide behind Background Ponies and “Enlightened Centrists” like Lemon Drop here.

We are not the same. We are not shouting to the high heavens how brown people and dudes who enjoy kissing dudes should be in camps. We just wanna live. We want a society that doesn’t punish us for the circumstance of birth. To have that society we need to exclude ideas that perpetuate societal abuse. To be tolerant of people, we must be intolerant of ideas.
To take immutable traits and equate them with entirely mutable ideas is dangerous at best, and a dogwhistle at worst.

It is shockingly common, all the more so in the past few years as the fandom shrinks and becomes more insular. Not that this fandom was ever all that respectable to begin with, given where it began, and given 4chan was literally funded by, ed by, and politically influenced by Jeffrey Epstein. There are plenty of good people out there that are fans of pony but you’re rarely gonna find them in the mainstream environs of said fandom anymore, for good reason.

You know that classic “we are not the same” meme? It applies here, quite heavily. The “other side” you speak of are complaining about people who are ing political movements intended to expand civil liberties, foster tolerance, understanding, cooperation, and equitability. Suggesting there’s any kind of equivalency here at all is at best an attempt at centrist “both sidesism” and at worst genuinely intentional ignorance as to the kinds of harm perpetuated by child pornography and Nazi/Nazi-adjacent ideologies and ideals.
Looks like an artist I’d follow, gotta have sense of humor to understand such things though.
