But as dark humor it works. So maybe have her add ‘Kidding!’ a few seconds later or something?
EDIT:
Actually no, that could maybe make sense if it was whoever killed the rest of her village, and she managed to put a “Don’t throw me in that briar patch!” regarding the idea that she could ONLY be destroyed in the same temple she was created in (rather than distance from he temple and/or area she was supposed to correct being lethal to her). It being years locked away would be very coincidental at best, and impossible at worst (corpse dragging and even bone chewing scavengers are a thing after all…) given she only buried some of the dead and that Anon would know about the alcove if she was captured after somehow finding time to bury some of the dead.
@warpd
I get the impression the village was isolated enough that Anon was the first to visit it after the rest died (from anything from disease to invasion).
Did she volunteer for this, (but perhaps regret it afterwards?)?
Did she only hold it against the priest(s)?
Was she magically controlled after her transformation not to attack anyone?
Was she the one who wiped out her village (out of vengeance)? Seems unlikely, given she buried some of them.
That seems… unlikely.
