G4 still has a happy ending. G5 takes place several hundred years in the future
Hearth’s Warming wasn’t “replaced”. Because earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasi had been living isolated from each other for so long, it makes sense that the holiday about all three ponykinds coming together would be lost to time. Each tribe eventually evolved their own winter holidays. And despite each holiday being different, they still have the unifying trait of revolving around the Wishing Star, which we now know was Twilight
Twilight’s hologram appearance was due to a weird issue about Hasbro apparently not fully owning the rights of FIM past S4. This meant they would have to pay Discovery Family in order to use Twilight’s timeskip design, which apparently they didn’t want to do. This same issue might factor into the fact that apparently the new FIM comics by Boom Studios take place shortly after Twilight becomes an alicorn
Spike becoming quadrupedal isn’t a retcon. We see that one of the oldest dragons in FIM, Dragon Lord Torch, isn’t bipedal like Spike, Ember, Smolder, or most other younger dragons. It’s safe to say that as dragons grow, they become quadrupeds
G5 is canon to G4. No amount of coping is going to change the fact that it was made as a sequel set far in the future.

Exactly! G5 got fucked over so much by Hasbro. MYM didn’t get to continue, even though another season was planned, with scripts written, and then when they forced TYT to take the place of the main G5 show, they didn’t even let S2 properly finish before deciding to cancel it!
They never explained anything; there were so many plot holes with Generation 5 that you could fill a chapter book with nothing but plot holes. Tell Your Tale not only had a terrible art style, but it was paced so quickly that you had no room to breathe or figure anything out. Five-minute episodes? That’s the poorest decision they could have made. Furthermore, they just had to connect it to Generation 4. My biggest criticism of Generation 5 was their need to connect it to the prior generation. All they did was screw Generation 4 over, kill their happy ending, and for what? They couldn’t even name-drop the Everfree Forest; they replaced Hearthswarming with Winter Wish Day?
They didn’t even get Twilight’s hologram right; she was supposed to be the size of Princess Celestia by the time she made the hologram, and Spike was bipedal in G4; he didn’t walk on all fours. Everything they tried to do with Generation 5 as a continuation of Generation 4 only further destroyed the canon of Generation 4. I have no clue what they plan to do with Generation 6, but at the very least it’s a reimagining, and nothing in 6 will affect Generation 4. The bare minimum requirement is that they just make it its own thing, even though the characters are the same. I can get behind the alternate universe argument. I will never consider Generation 5 canon to 4. It was all in Chaos Pinkie Pie’s mind; she dreamt it all up in the span of a second in the brief moment she had Discord’s magic.

I don’t like the idea of moving to G6. I don’t like the idea of reusing 4 of the same main characters. Heck G5 have some loose plot lines that hadn’t been resolve yet! I am not going to watch it because it looks bad!
Maybe you should do it instead
Lol, Google the meaning of the word “purists.”

TF you on about, people complain about TYT’s art style all the time!
