If you’re using a roller ball mouse you’re likely using it for work or like the clicky sense of it so nobody minds it!

At this level of detail it’s not too difficult to see that connector as DB9 - my first PC I got in 2001 was from 98-99 and it still came to me with its original serial COM mouse.
Funny thing is that it had onboard PS/2 connectors, too, and an add-on PCI-USB expansion card so I went from that serial (balled) mouse through a PS/2 variant of the same to an optical USB+PS/2 Microsoft IntelliMouse, all still on that one Pentium MMX machine.
As cute as she is, usb came out in 1996, and started being more common in 1998, personally I had a ps2 optic mouse in my 1st pc in 2007 I think. I haven’t seen a usb ball mouse ever.
Yes I can’t ignore that she is either a very special ball mouse pony having usb, or she should have a green round connector.
