Before there was Fluttershy, there was POSEY! As a child I found Posey’s color palette enchanting. There is something so gentle about pastel pink and yellow. In the second MLP animated special, Escape from Katrina, Posey was (for some reason) cast as the caretaker for the newly-introduced baby ponies. Despite my general uncertainty about that storyline, the concept of Posey as a nurturer stuck with me. Perhaps it WAS the soft safety of her colors. Pinkie Pie lost her wings, but it felt natural to give those wings to Fluttershy - they only made her feel more like an angel.
