You know, the LAST time I posted Changeling ship art relating to EaW on Reddit, some people got pretty salty about it. I guess once in the valley of Banned From Discord, all sins are now equal. It’s quite liberating actually! :)
So anyway, storytime from Uncle Ddraig.
The Greneclyfians and the Farbrookians had been allies since time immemorial, that much was common knowledge. That relationship between the two peoples would only continue to strengthen, and reach a new level of unity with the marriage of the Changeling Queen Gytha, and the Farbrookian king, Cenhelm.
The Isle of Greneclyf had grown quite prosperous in the new century, becoming a trading centre along the Eastern Seaboard of Griffonia. Its merchant marine were also one of the only ones daring enough to cross the empty sea between Griffonia, and the western coast of the Equus continent, bringing in valuable trade from Equestria. With the end of the Changeling Civil War and the banishment of Queen Chrysalis, the small island, where once trade had been strictly a relationship of commerce between the Equusian and Greneclyfian changelings, would ultimately blossom into a far friendlier arrangement, even if there remained controversy over Greneclyf allegedly harbouring Chrysalissian refugees.
The most important development in the isle’s long history however was the marriage of Gytha and Cenhelm. Cenhelm had not rested on his laurels since reforming the myriad of Hillfolk tribes into a unified kingdom. Under his reign, the tribes of Farbrook, the Firtrees and the Watertowns, united into the Hillfolk Commonwealth, ruled over by Cenhelm as king, and by Iorweth of the Firtress and Eathelin of the Watertowns as part of a ruling council over the new realm.
With the marriage of Cenehlm and Gytha, there was a royal union between the dual monarchies, and so the two nations became one: The Hillfolk-Greneclyfian Commonwealth, ruled over equally by the now Council of Four. The nation would remain friendly with the River Federation, but would ultimately chose not to become a part of it.
So, that’s storytime. I look forward to getting super-mega-ultra-banned from Discord ;) but for the curious, the flag is a combination of the Farbrook and Greneclyfian flags, and the castle, and indeed the city of Blosmport, is basically Kilkenny, a city in Ireland.
Located in the distant north-east of Griffonia, Farbrook is a small feudal society. Chief Cenhelm has led them well, but his term is ending, and some ponies don’t think he’s tough enough to protect Farbrook in these trying times. Threats loom from within and without. To the north, the grim Arcturian Order keeps at bay the terrible darkness that our sailors can faintly see across the ocean. To the south lie the Riverponies, friendly but inscrutable. To the west prowl the Griffon Knights, historic oppressors and foes of all ponykind. In the face of these perils, will Farbrook turn to extremism? Or will they hold true to the path of Harmony?
Lore Farbrook:
Past: The nation of Farbrook was founded roughly thousands of years ago far after the ponies migrated from northern Equestria to Griffonia. Throughout the years, before officially settling in the north-eastern area of Griffonia, the Farbrook tribes fought with the Griffons in small battles and skirmishes, before finally settling along the coast. During these times the nation developed strong traditional values, that hold to the present day.
Present: Farbrook has remained a small feudal society until as of late where problems have begun to rise. The current leader, Chief Cenhelm, has led the nation well, but with the looming threat of the Dread League to the north and the growing griffon threat to the west, more action is needed to take place.
Cenhelm, ruler of the Ironhelm Tribe, has led Farbrook for seven years, and has done well by most ponies’ standards. The economy has grown slowly but comfortably, and despite the north being a dangerous place, Farbrook has remained relatively peaceful during his reign. However, his time is nearly up, leaving the door open for him or others to be in power to tackle the issues. Radicals are looking to take a more extreme route to solving the problems while others believe a calm approach to the problems at hoof would work just fine. The Clan Council will have to meet to decide whether or not he should remain in power
The radicals aiming to take power from Cenhelm are the North Eastern Socialist Party and the vicious, warlike White Hooves Clan.
The NESP is a ragtag, disorganised bunch and has 2 leaders varying for control of the party. The first is Hempstand, a carefree young stallion from the nearby Watertowns. He believes that socialism must be achieved through inner peace and justice and right relations between of our society, not through force. He is an idealist, and popular with a certain type of pony.
The other is Applethorn, a young, fiery revolutionary who spent years fighting for the GLA in Prywhen. She wishes to heavily modernise and industrialise the backwater country, then spread the Revolution to the neighbouring countries.
The White Hooves Clan is led by Hermane Gering, the slightly-delusional leader of the White Hooves tribe. He is a stallion driven by relentless ambition. He believes that Farbrook is not only great, but the greatest nation on Griffonia, and that its borders deserve to match.
However, the lack of a proper military and industry, it still leaves many things in question on how to move forward. The people cling tightly to traditional values but many have seen the power that steam engines have unlocked in the west. It remains to be seen what the fate will be for Farbrook but the country’s future lies in the hooves of the Chief Council.
Lore Greneclyf Hives: As a product of Ditrysium’s colonial ambitions, Greneclyf has a long history shaped by the leadership of two exiled noble houses. The island’s population is a blend of sailors’ descendants and of the Leamhan and Óir houses, who abandoned the caste system to form a new nation, forgotten amidst homeland disputes.
At one point, Greneclyf nearly succumbed to famine, but fishermen from Farbrook saved it. In gratitude, the changelings repaid them with obsidian crafts and coastal defenses, marking the beginning of the “Great Pacts”-Greneclyf’s first link to the outside world. More than 700 years later, Eithne of Clann Óir ascended to the throne, declaring that isolation must end. The changelings gathered intelligence across Griffonia, creating the first bureaucrats, sparking an industrial revolution, transforming guilds into syndicates, cantons into prefectures, and turning inhabitants into citizens.
In 1006, Eithne’s death saw young matriarch Gytha Leamhan take the throne. Inspired by the revolution in the Griffon Empire and the Three Principles, she pondered how these ideals could shape her homeland. Armed with har-monious visions, she embraced Enya’s legacy, aiming to modernize Greneclyf and present it as a beacon of peace-just as the Second Great Famine looms on the horizon…

The Great Pacts: The ancient Farbrookian-Greneclyf friendship is symbolised by two pairs of tapestries, each weaved by Farbrook and Greneclyf. One represents the First Sharing from around 800 years ago, whereas the other depicts the Frozen Refuge, both events that are very significant for both Greneclyfians and Farbrookians.
Collectively known as the Great Pacts, this hoofscraft stands as a testament of the historic friendship and collaborative nature between the two peoples, trascending biological barriers and proving that Harmony is truly universal.
Submod that expands the base content for a small but very ambitious country!
Welcome to Greencliff! A small, forgotten bug island in the eastern part of the griffon continent. Its thousand-year history is interesting and awe-inspiring. Lead a brood of changelings and lead Greencliff to greatness! To do this, you need to industrialize, launch the largest ship that has ever seen the light of day, modernize the social structure and scientific base by founding the University of Blossmport, and hire rangers. Also, start mining resources to the great fleet, and launch a nuclear program to catch up and overtake your neighbors in development!
Why does the submod exist?
Dallkory said: I started playing EAW in 2018, around the time Griffonia came out. That’s when Greencliff came out. At first, I didn’t understand how to play him and why I couldn’t prevent the crisis. After a few games, I couldn’t do anything, Greencliff seemed boring and unfinished to me at the time. As the years went by, my love for changelings grew. As Chrysalis was getting content, mechanics were being updated, new characters were being added, there were no changes to Greencliff, and that was disappointing to me.
During the same period, I got back into drawing after a few years of art blocking. Then I started drawing changelings because in the MLP universe, they were the only ones that interested me. Magic, wings, the ability to transform into anything - wow. It’s fantastic. Over time, my drawing skills grew and I mastered the oil painting technique. Around this time, in 2023, I made a portrait of iral Hart and decided to use it to create a small submod for Greencliff to add some content to it. That submod is still on steam, and you can it. Eventually, I wanted to add more characters to that submod, but my university had other plans for me)
So, in 2024, I used my previous work and decided to add some characters to start. Over time, I decided to expand the submod by adding focuses, decisions, missions, resource mining to diversify the gameplay. And overall, I am happy with the result. There are many things I want to improve, such as: adding unique icons for ideas, creating unique illustrations for events (currently using temporary versions), but the main work is already behind (or not). In the future, a rework of Greencliff will come out, and perhaps my submod will not make sense, but right now I want to bring something new to one of my favorite countries in the EAW world. The far northern aesthetic, the island monarchy of the changelings, and the isolation - this challenge keeps me going as a player, considering the country has many threats in the outside world.
