Luna is made of custom dyed minky, minky and mochi minky. She lays at about 10 inches from the tip of the nose to the back tips of the back legs. The face, cutie mark, hoof detailing, and mane/tail detailing is machine embroidered and appliqued. None of the accessories are removable.
Wow! A canon pony!
I was feeling a bit down and second guessing my love for MLP recently. I literally gasped when I saw someone submit a form for a canon pony! having Luna actually order had me over the moon!
Starting off– i believe as soon as I accepted the commission, I started embroidery files not long after. This little one was technically last in queue but because I was waiting on fabrics, she got bumped up to first!.
Dyeing was easy! Though the original 2 dyed colors were scrapped because of some uneven staining. The 2nd batch came out awesome!
I was determined to get as close to perfect as i could since none of the Shannon colors were close to her colors.
Funny enough– what took a bit too much time was the cutie mark. I spent some time looking for a picture of her cutie mark as a back view since in my head, I thought her cutiemark went all the way around her rump, not up it as a curve.
I decided to go with mochi minky for the cutie mark (and accessories) just as a personal preference. To be honest, I’m not sure if I like it or not. BUT I do like how clean it looks versus applique with regular minky.
Mane and tail were easy to pattern, and even the little accessories!
To be honest, I don’t think I have much else to say about this sweetheart. I would love to remake her and have plans to remake her with the stained fabric as a one off!
