For what it’s worth, I’d take your design (or pretty much any other design) over the one we got. It feels really lazy to me that her entire family has the exact same design as her (sans vitiligo).
More on point, I’m looking forward to seeing how this comic plays out. I like this group of 3.

Yeah, she’s Violette’s mom. Since I didn’t know what she looked like, I hid her behind the speech bubbles.
The parents look a lot alike; I think they’re siblings. lol
I guess they want to make it hyper obvious that it’s Violette’s family. But if anything, it feels more stereotypical that way.
