It reminds me of cheese sandwiches introduction episode, where the very thing she based her whole life on, party planning for all her friends, was taken away by someone better than her at it.
I wonder why she didnt pinkamena transform in that one. I guess they had to keep it short, but It feels nice as representation for those who bury their feelings deep, deep down so that no one can feel like they caused that sadness.

To me, the way Pinkie went straight-maned in “Party of One” always feels like one half of a bookend that pairs with little Pinkamena Diane Pie, the sad little filly on a rock farm. With this picture, I got the interpretation that what had “taken Pinkie’s tears” was happiness itself, rather than a particular pony. She’s struck by the heartbroken idea that happiness, the concept she’s dedicated her life to, is just a lie that’s now taken everything from her.

what I had in mind was all of the mane six, but ironically, element of loyalty rainbow dash has probably betrayed her most throughout the series.
