Which brings me to this sketch comic about a small dream.
I’ve had many dreams, like a big plush pony, great love, or having friends like Mane 6, but probably my biggest dream is to own my own house. A place that’s not just a home in words, but one that feels like home…
Where you can arrange it however you want, where you can shut out the world when people are annoying you, where you can cry without having to do it quietly. Or sing along to your favorite song in the middle of the room. Where you don’t have to wait until you’re alone to do a deep cleaning (my personal form of relaxation XD). A real home… Where, first and foremost, you feel safe and “in your element.”
Over the past few years, I’ve often told friends, “I want to go home,” and they were probably thinking of the dorm we lived in while working in Bulgaria, or the house in Ukraine, maybe even my parents’ house, but… every time I said, in a fit of fatigue, “I want to go home,” I imagined something similar. Not even a place. When I thought I want to go home, I was thinking of the feeling of safety and peace I so desperately needed.
I’ve lived practically my entire life in the same room with my older brother, and it’s… disgusting. No personal space. Not to mention that my brother himself is a vile person.
I dream of getting my own space one day, and I hope it’ll be a small two-story apartment similar to Sunset’s. It’s unlikely that this dream will come true, given the current reality (even ignoring the war in my country, the market economy is in such disrepair that young people like me simply can’t save up for our own place in a lifetime). But as a school psychologist once told me: if you depict something and leave it in a visible place, self-hypnosis will spur you to actions that can lead to the desired result. I hope that’s true XD
In the meantime, happy birthday to me ಡ ʖ ಡ
And as they say, the best gift for an artist is a repost of their work, haha
Everyone is the blacksmith of their own fortune.
Everything takes his time and patience is important here. (Those who take shortcuts get burned easily…seen often)
I realized for myself that it’s like starting at the bottom of a staircase. When you look up at your goal, it seems high, far away, and frustrating, but the path to it is possible if you take everything in small steps, bit by bit.(good things took time)
I wish you strength to pursue this and other dreams :)
P.S.: Hey, we have a long life ahead of us, you can still achieve a lot of things later on.
I all too well understand that deep desire to have your own space, should you ever find that place, protect it.
Don’t allow others, who drain your spirits entry, There’s something about having peace the world as a whole seems to detest & will seek to disturb said peace.
Perhaps peaceful people are just more conscious of their personal time, thus more likely to become a “crutch” for others?
Regardless,
I hope we all can go home soon, we desperatly need true rest & room to breathe.
Thank you, those are quite wise words^^
