Nah, her name is just a phrase for a certain kind of woman (and I’d say she is one of that certain kind). Also, the “steel” part of “steel magnolia” is also similar to “iron” which brings to mind Iron Will, which is why I picked it; I really like following naming conventions, even if/when I make them up myself.
