@Background Pony I would re-read it, bro. I did about some time later after you talk about (I think) and it’s cool. Whatchu saying is right, there’s a LOT of things you realise the second time you read it and it’s not that long to do.
I think it took me less than a couple months to read for my second time what you’re describing.
Everytime I see one of these Homestuck styled images it keeps reminding me of how freaking behind I am. I started reading it in 2011 and got caught up within a few weeks of reading, and then kept going through to 2012, but then something happened in the middle of 2012 (non-Homestuck related) that caused me to just put it on hold for the time being and… I still haven’t read anymore updates since the introduction of Meenah. Yeah, that’s how far behind I am.
On one hand I can always re-read the plot summaries to what’s happened so far and maybe just re-read the Act I left off on without feeling like I forgot important plot points (though I do a lot of the artwork, I have a better visual memory than a text memory), but on the other I feel like it’ll probably take another good couple of weeks to read up on what I’ve been missing for a good year and a half. (plus I’m wondering if maybe re-reading the entire thing again wouldn’t be so bad since it’ll be interesting to see the moments where it seemed like Hussie really thought ahead, or was just writing by the seat of his pants and went “sure why not”)
I did notice that Act 6 was dragged out for a lot longer than expected, much like what occurred with Act 5, making me wonder if Hussie really even wants Homestuck to end at all (he said long ago it’d end with Act 7). I mean I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, it actually is pretty awesome having the internet equivalent of a grand epic being told over a long period of time (well long by internet standards), but when you how Hussie’s older material either only lasted one year, or was never even finished, it seems like Homestuck is where he’s really found a world he probably doesn’t want to let go of anytime soon.

“I CONJURE THIS INTREPID FANTASYSCAPE WITH TEARS BLED FROM THE WISDOM-WEARY EYES OF FIFTY THOUSAND IMAGINARY UNICORNS. I PULL HEAVY DRAGS FROM THE BRUMES OF INSPIRATION WITH ENCHANTED BELLOWS MARAUDED FROM A GUILD OF CHURLISH MYTHICAL DIAMOND DOGS. VAST BULBOUS RIDDLESPIDERS PUSH THE SILKEN STRANDS OF PURE WHIMSY THROUGH HIDEOUS ABDOMINAL SPINNERETS AND IT IS THAT WITH WHICH I WEAVE THIS AUDACIOUS COCOON OF EXQUISITE LIES. AND WHEN IT HATCHES A GREAT CHANGELING OF TITILLATION WILL AWAKEN AND ROAR AND BEAT ITS WINGS, AND THE POWDER SETTLING DOWN WILL ARREST THE HUMORS OF AN ENORMOUS TERRIBLE OLD DRACONEQUUIS, RELAXING THE VULTUROUS LEATHERY VICEGRIP HE’S FIXED AROUND YOUR CAPTIVE MIND.”
I need to re-read Homestuck sometime soon.
Ah, you found the visual gag. Have a cookie.
