Detailed syntax guide

@Swordmaster200
That’s okay. Sorry if I came off as an asshole in my assessment of the work. I’m still trying to get this whole “tact” thing down.

Important thing is, do your own thing, and learn. You learn to be better from others, but don’t let them stifle you.
@Trachyon
Thank you for the constructive criticism. I am still learning, after all.
@Swordmaster200
Sorry, not your fault. It’s just like @unknownguy777
says: red and black, besides clashing and not fitting in with the pastel design of MLP, is seen as a very unoriginal and edgy colour scheme. Unless you’re very creative about it, it’s going to come off as clashing and trite.

See, because you’re using block red and black. If you take a look at the ponies in the show, from the main characters all the way down to the baclground ponies, you’ll see that they all wear softer, pastel colours for their coats and manes. Eyes are a bit of an exception, but red is a hard colour to find a match with anyway.

Now, what am I talking about when I mean “pastel coloured”? Well, go onto whatever paint program you might have on your computer. Hell, you can even go on any Microsoft Office software and open up the colour pallete for font/background/whatever.

You might see that there are three independent values: Hue, Sat, and Lum. Or hue, saturation, and luminescence. Fiddle around with the numbers for any colour for saturation. Take comparisons, and note that no pony in the show has a coat colour with the saturation set to the maximum (255, if I recall correctly).

Now, that was kind of a tangent, but the important thing to is this: if you’re drawing for yourself, then why should you need to listen to what I have to say. Only if you’re drawing for others should you take to heart what I’ve said.
@Swordmaster200
No offense but red and black isn’t a good color scheme for a pony nine times out of ten. It’s usually looked down upon, since many unoriginal pony OCs have this as their color scheme.
@Trachyon
Why did I bring up a shitstorm?

@unknownguy777
Would you guys stop it?
@unknownguy777
I guess it’d work.

It just makes me feel like an asshole when I realise just how thoroughly and completely I can criticise the design choices (or lack thereof) that went into making this OC.

It’s not that people are out to make these bad designs. It’s just that most of them are kids with maybe a few symptoms of Eighth Grader Syndrome who genuinely don’t understand why the whole dark and edgy, red and black is a boring, uncreative overused and unappealing design.
@Trachyon
Donut Steel might fit
Do we have a tag for this typical red-and-black design too many OCs fall into?

Besides “edgy”, that is.
Yandere/Yangire? How? There’s not really any indication on how exactly she’s yandere/yangire.
