That was the point, a unicorn carrying impossibly heavy stuff. I wasn’t implying Twilight became an earthie from being discorded. Surely Dan must be tens of times heavier than the cake BM had to carry and he had a hard time with it as soon as it was loaded on his back, so it’s not a matter of tiring.

First, Twilight losing her horn doesn’t change her unicorn genetics, so it’s doubtful there was any change to her physical strength.
Second, that cake was insanely heavy, and carrying it for a long time would wear anyone out, even Big Mac.

Applejack has outclassed RD in raw strength in almost every episode besides Fall Weather Friends, whereas RD is always portrayed as much faster and lighter. True, we have seen some impressive feats of unicorn and pegasi strength. But on the other hand, we have Big Macintosh pulling a house, Applejack literally destroying the base of a large tree with one kick in the tonic episode (and lifting a bed over her head in another), Maud Pie being able to destroy rocks with her hooves, and many background earth ponies that are incredibly strong, like the train ponies in Over a Barrel. To be clear, I’m not saying that there aren’t weak earth ponies or strong Pegasi. I’m just saying that out of the feats of strength portrayed in the show, most of them are from Earth ponies, and the ones most consistently portrayed as strong are earth ponies, so you can’t really blame people for drawing the conclusion that earth ponies are stronger on average.
Of course, the writers use the rule of plot to some extent to determine who’s strong and who isn’t at any given moment, so draw your own conclusions. It’s just my headcanon.
Not that I’ve seen. Pegasus seem to be just as adapt like Bulk Biceps and the Wonderbolt’s in training. Rainbow Dash keeps up with Applejack just fine. Shining Armor threw Cadance. Don’t think I’ve ever heard it said Earth Ponies were stronger, sans Big Mac, I don’t think I’ve seen it either.

Not all earth ponies are that strong. But the episodes where earth ponies display incredible strength vastly outnumber the episodes that show unicorns doing it.
