well, i’ve already started other tags before. if i could be so hipster, they’re quite popular now. tags like fdau, tangible heavenly object, backlighting, looking between legs, piledriver, etc.
granted, the more porn related the tag is the quicker it was to catch on. which is why i can look at an image suitable for “fdau” or “piledriver” and not worry if someone hasn’t already tagged it accordingly. though even then it took a while for it to catch on.
and of course, there are other tags i’ve started that haven’t gotten anywhere, like “suspended congress” or “bare shoulder portrait’ and i continue to be alone in tagging them.
and i’m not so bothered that tags don’t catch on, especially if the only point in them is to a convenience the community doesn’t see beyond my own use of the site. tl;dr- if the tag doesn’t catch on, fine. it’s up to taggers if they want to or not.
i’ll just be a little perturbed people would misuse the tags i’ve started and only add to the confusion of the laying/laying down/lying/lying down tags

If the point of this one image, that we can only confirm has been seen by 13 people (11 upvotes, 1 downvote, and I’ll confirm that I have seen it but haven’t upvoted or downvoted it) is to propose and popularize the in public. I’ll grant that. But it’s not much of a plan to get these known and used. This image is now old and won’t be seen by many more people than have seen it before. It won’t increase the popularity of the words any further. I’ve stuck to my word and I’m about halfway through tagging the stadium scenes from Equestria Games, but all that will do is make it easier for people who already know the term to find images of ponies sitting like Egyptian cats, if they want to.
Do you plan to comment on all applicable new images, adding the tag and politely pointing out that you have done so? That would, over time, get the recognized. I’ll keep back-tagging the Equestria Games images, but I don’t have time to comment on why I added “sejant” to the ones of seated Saddle Arabians, Maritanians, dignitaries, and Princesses. I look at all the new images most days, but I don’t have time to comment on all of them. If you do, that would get the word out there. So to speak.

one by one. seems silly to not do something simply because it’s too late, especially considering derpibooru has been around for a while and tags like “solo’ aren’t on all appropriate images . but it’s getting there.
could hope it catches on and others tag along, or perhaps we could dismiss it all together. tbh i only made this chart now, after making that thread some time ago, because someone was going around mistagging what would otherwise be as the vague “laying down” as “prone”, a tag i started myself as defined in above image.

That misses the point. How do you plan to teach them the words in the first place? They can’t easily a word if they’ve still never heard it.

sejant and couchant are french words, and considering we’re english speaking, cannibalizing other european languages doesn’t seem all too outrageous. plus, being simply ‘seated’ and ‘couched’, i think it’s pretty easy to .
This is probably the single most appropriate thing I’ve ever seen posted. I do however have to ask, “why?” Not why did you post it, but why do we need tags for different kinds of lying down? And who will to tag an image “sejant?” It’s not a word anypony uses daily, and not a word most ponies have ever even heard before. How do you propose to educate enough s to actually implement this tag consistently? Or go back and find the ones missing the sejant tag among the 600,000 or so existing entries? Same with couchant.
