I don’t mean like holding spells to be cast, I mean like, it provides increased strength and durability because of the magic applied to the armor itself.
Given her mannerisms, she doesn’t really strike me as soneone who’d hide enchantments or deceive by looks. She seems much more honorable than that, but who knows? I’m probably dead wrong.

well after all fights in Equestria are focused around magic and stuff so you don’t need heavy plate mail armor. there is no difference when you wear full body armor or unconvincing armor if you got hit by giant fire ball/ice blast/chain lightning/etc… so just screw armor and focus on magic shields and avoidance ^^
come on she can change into magic mist/smoke/miasma and totally ignore threat from physical weapons
