Smudge in essence is nothingness, he has no soul, no mind, no body, no heart
long ago he came down from the nothingness of space and latched onto the first pony he came across…the villain called “ring-tail”
Ring-tail used Smudge to do crime and because of that, that is all smudge “knows” what to do
Smudge be considered an “after thought” or a “shadow” the way he mimics as an after thought to those around him. If you show him a bit of kindness, he will return kindness back to you…after all, it is in his nature
but it is said that his time with Ring-tail tainted his “mind” and that no amount of “kindness” will ever upset that nothingness
