@DragonWraith
Just cause Ember’s taller doesn’t mean she’s significantly older or even older than Spike. that Spike is regarded as a runt and an abnormality with no wings among the dragons, not a hatch-ling in need of watching over, nor one who others wouldn’t listen too as dragon lord. Ember’s age or stage of life is never given, only that she has a dad.
@Background Pony #03E3
Ember’s not that much older than Spike.
It’s hard to nail down due to the vagaries of draconic aging, but I’d estimate that Ember is in her mid to late 20’s, while Spike’s age can be more firmly established as in his early to mid teens; in dragon , she’s a young child and he’s an infant.

Well, it is a show about friendship. Let’s not get too carried away with those shipping goggles. Spike and Ember are just friends in canon and we might not see Ember again for rest of the season.
@Swashbucklist
I agree. I don’t like that idea at all. I don’t see Spike and Ember become a couple in canon, do the fact that Ember lives with the dragons and Spike lives with the ponies. I don’t see that working out :P
@Bahamut
That’s fine, as long as all this doesn’t turn into a platform for “Spike should stay with his own kind” attitude that a lot of Spike haters and shippers have.
@Bahamut
See, that would be awesome. That’s a real fitting destiny for him IMO, even if it was just with the dragons to act as the bridge between his two races (the one he was born as and the one he knows and was raised sort of as). As opposed to whatever most people can dream up for Sparity, with the sheer lifespan difference among others that make it tragic or just one sided. Just IMO.

It’s alright.
That what I agree on. But I won’t ship her just because she a dragon.
I know but still. It’s great that there’s a actual female dragon to ship Spike with now.
You’re not worth the effort.
Hey, watch that SJW talk, now…

Yeah, because we definitely want to teach kids that it’s never okay to look for love outside their own race.
Yeah, we can leave that to umm. Big Jim? Was it big jim the current ceo of the show?

I like your opinion. Now let’s hope the shows current owner/ceo let Spike find happiness amongst his fellow dragons.
Sparity is starting to become a thing of the past for me now that we have Ember. :D
