Yeah, Aero was always a transvestite. His family may not understand that though, especially his mother. The blog points that out by making Aero an obvious crossdresser but having his parents think he’s transgender.
it’s actually fascinating about this comic. I thought the blog was a flippant failure to understand gender dysphoria, with how aero is so comically not gender dysphoric, but with dinky… it’s actually a decent comparison between transsexual and transvestite. aero loves girly clothing, and acts really girly, but it doesn’t bother him about how manly he acts. he’s sexually active, takes care of himself, and loves who he is.
dinky’s a bit more worrisome though… you can’t solve her problems by putting her in a smart suit. she has issues with her sexuality, and seems reluctant to explore it. she doesn’t care what she looks like, only that it looks… wrong. she’s not taking care of herself, barely even recognizing who she sees in the mirror. I can’t say aero won’t have gender dysphoria, if he starts avoiding his own reflection, or going on starvation diets to avoid growing tall, or starts taking measures to …hinder his ability to be a man, but it looks like dinky might actually have a problem.
it’s like with aero, he’ll appreciate a gift of perfume for its own sake, because it smells nice, while with dinky she might not even use the cologne, but would appreciate getting it for how less girly it made her seem. the latter sort of attitude rarely ends in happiness… except in ponyland, where they have gender switching spells
