Say what you want about Gameloft, they broke my desire to gamble while also demonstrating all the instinct hooks there are in impulse buying and gambling.

I still have the party quests active (but I still havent unlocked the crystal empire), but for some reason when the game actualized to the crystal empire version the sweet apple acress quest reactivadad like I never completed them before.
And I’m very, very tempted to cheat, to be honest the only reason I havent did it yet is because I’m afraid of geting banned

It appears that this is pretty much the penalty for people who still didn’t complete the Cheese Sandwich line of quests (or whatever they were that involved that stage building) after all this time, since it got removed when they added the Crystal Empire.
*cough* The last few days leading up to that update weren’t my fault though, I got a bug that cleared my Ponyville and had to wait those days for someone at Gameloft Customer Care to send me my old save. They at least gave me back the bits and gems that I got after the last cloud save point (not the XP though, but effectively I was able to reap the reward of leveling up to 101 twice, hehe).

True story. I got over 1000 on the last flying minigame event thinking it was one of my better scores, but before long I saw how it was ranked. I’ve also said something similar in the past as far as Gameloft setting the gem price to whatever they want, and sticking a time-sensitive “on sale” label on it to “induce a feeling of urgency” and/or to make people think they’re getting a good deal.
As I had mentioned on one of their Facebook posts…..
The costs on these characters are completely determined by the company itself. They want to charge $50 for a single character? It’s not to cover random costs in making it or something, it’s just because they want more money. When first starting the game there are several characters that already cost gems in the shop…. but they only cost anywhere from 5-150ish. But every new character they release anymore is a minimum of about 300 gems.
So why feed their greed? You would be out several grand or more if you bought everything in this game, and it would be meaningless to do that when they would just see that people are spending on these characters and then they get away with dramatically raising the prices on them.
Right now, Spike costs more then Celestia ever did. Even with that discount.
I still play it now but I have never spent anything on it or cheated. But it is pretty bad when they have the events for a new pony by playing the flying minigame and you can’t even pretend to get a good score on there anymore.
They have one going on now and I managed around 1000ish for my score, which I thought was pretty epic. But I look on the leaderboards and see my ranking…… I’m like somewhere around 400ish or lower ranked. The top people are mostly with Russian names or the little VIP crowns (meaning they spent money) with well over 2k scores. >.>
Every time Gameloft releases a new character or, in this case, releases a special event character for purchase, it’s like a giant middle finger to all of the kids or non-wealthy individuals who play this game.
This is what is basically forcing some people to hardcore cheat (seen the leaderboards on about anything in game?) just to progress.

…I’m pathetic. It’s the same ad spending money on artists though.
