Those are books. They have little bearing to the animated media. People will easily skip that stuff. Hence why plenty of people don’t even read the comics. Plus, that’s Flash’s experiences, not SciTwi’s. I saw no continuity nod at all in that scene. Not even a gag about it. Might as well never happened.

Actually, it was mentioned, but it was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. After Flash Sentry’s one interaction with SciTwi in Legend of Everfree, Sunset explained to the latter that the former had a thing for her Equestrian counterpart. Seeing as SciTwi didn’t react with any sort of of surprise, it’s clear that she’s been well aware for some time that she wasn’t the first ‘Twilight Sparkle’ to attend Canterlot High. Therefore, the meeting of the Twilights did happen. Watch the movie again if you don’t believe me.
Edit: Ah, here we go: The stinger from Friendship Games concerning the meeting of the Twilights was resolved in an MLP book named “Twilight’s Sparkly Sleepover Surprise”.
It isn’t. FIM and EqG are seperate. One of the staffers on twitter officially declared it so. Hell, even Legend of Everfree did not mentioned that meeting with both Twi’s from Friendship Games. So it might as well have never happened. XD

Every time the artist comments, especially when it’s something clever and pithy, I see Pinkie with her hooves together like she’s steepling, ie finger tenting, the juxtaposition making her look like her usual innocent appearance belies a devious mind, amusing herself by toying with those beyond the fourth wall and putting her family and friends into satisfactorily lewd situations as a means to that end. Of all the iterations of Pinkie, this one in the form of an artist’s avatar with her quips and her machinations..I can’t help but love it.
