Twilight laid there for hours just inhaling the lingering odors of her late friend, pinkie. She had been so full of life, so vibrant, but Twilight know the end was long past due. She ed the good and bad times, and even seeing the light dim from pinkie’s eyes upon her birthday. “Happy birthday,  
Pinkie” Twilight mumbled. The sheets were damp with tears as Twilight took one last look at where her friend had lain.
 
Because I could not stop for Death –  
He kindly stopped for Pinkie –  
The Carriage held but just Themselves –  
And Immortality.
 
They slowly drove – He knew no haste  
And I had put away  
My lament and my grief too,  
For His Civility –
 
They ed the School, where Children strove  
At Recess – in the Ring –  
They ed the Fields of Grazing Grain –  
They ed the Setting Sun –
 
Or rather – He ed them –  
The Dews drew quivering and chill –  
For only Gossamer, her Gown –  
Her Tippet – only Tulle –
 
They paused before a House that seemed  
A Swelling of the Ground –  
The Roof was scarcely visible –  
The Cornice – in the Ground –
 
Since then – ‘tis Centuries – and yet  
Feels shorter than the Day  
I first surmised the Horses’ Heads  
Were toward Eternity –

And she probably will, but for it’s ok if she needs some time to cry over what was lost. It’s not healthy to try and move on too quickly.

Get new friends, or become friends with your previous friend’s descendants then. Make most of life, rather than crying about the past. 🙂

Ok I have a thought, I know people have posted the “Will Alicorn Twilight out live her non-alicorn friends” question to the show staff before and the answer usually is that she will not.  
Some have speculated the rest of the mane six will become alicorns so they get to spend a thousand plus years together…  
My thought was always that they simply won’t push the show and its story past the mane six being grown ups so we never encounter the issue of the mane six becoming elderly ponies and Twilight still being young.  
But what if once they decide to end the story the mane six end up being fused with the elements of harmony and the tree of harmony?  
Since they are “the bearers of the elements of harmony” would it normal for them to die of old age like normal ponies? Or should they have something more epic that shows they were always tied to the elements? And were never normal ponies to begin with? I mean how many fashion ponies have a robot for a little sister? :d

bedridden, she still hung on for 7 years… wonder how much of that was for twilight’s sake.

There have been some fan stuff done with Pinkie Pie finding a way to party after death.

Watching someone you love slowly die and not being able to do anything about it is the most painful thing in the world. I know.
