Well the diamond dogs are an amalgamation of different dog races, so I can say that those other dogs here are just the same, share some breeds, but are not troll-like in appearence. Maybe I can say that they are an evolution of the diamond dogs or something.
I personally see them as a cartoony less edgy version of Kobolds.
The entire table is silent, as a storm of Chocolate milk rages outside. Celestia: Are we just going to take this!? We need to stop this so called Spirit! The others remain silent, going about their businesses, when Discord teleports in. Discord: Oh Celestia, how simply ordinary of you to think everything I do is horrible! I’m just doing everyone a favor! Right, everyone? Discord dips his plate into his tea, looking smug, as most of the occupants keep quiet. Celestia: Doscord, I demand you stop this! Celestia slams her front hooves onto the table, and a few of the Occupants recoil. After a while, the Storm clears, and Discord has disappeared. (That’s my take on what is going on.)

Initially I was unsure if using Baast herself or a descendant, but then I decided for the latter and made a blu, probably male cat. The pink filter retconed my decision.
I suppose the Baast tag will remain, for now.
Originally she was the Queen of the Diamond Dogs, but then my vision of their culture clashed too much with what we saw in the show and decided to make a different race. Still can’t find a name I am happy with though.
