I liking it.
It bothered me that it never bothered to explain you could watch more on YouTube. Most of the audience likely assumed that was all there was.
I watched Hanazuki for two reasons: 1.) Because of the announcement months ago that a short would be attached to the movie, so I wouldn’t be confused; and 2.) Because Dave Polsky was in charge of the story. So glad I did. Excited for the short just about as much as the movie itself, and then it’s on to season 2 next year!
Now, let’s see if anyone else would want to see or even react to it, now that we have a full season. If they don’t, I wonder if the short will inspire them.
Not to mention, if you’re wondering why Dave Polsky hasn’t been writing on MLP in season 7, that’s because he’s the head writer and story editor of this show now. I’d give it a shot, and on top of that (HUGE spoilers for the Hanazuki season finale), Polsky pulled off an even better villain reformation than what MLP has done lately.

Yeah it was simple and I think the animation in the short was different than in the web series.

Both a pre-MLP movie and a feature-length movie. No idea if the movie will be theatrical, though.
