The DS game was HARD!
A lot of the music in Valkyrie Profile sound like Golden Sun music.
Yes, he does reuse notes a lot. None more apparent than in Tales of Vesperia where his Golden Sun music patterns were as plain as day.
If not a remake, at least something. It has been a while since we got a true VP game, since the one for mobiles and the one for DS where spinoff.
If we talk about voice acting, Tales of Destiny II (Eternia in Japan and Europe) has a more crude voice acting, with voices that make you laugh because the are terribly plain and goofy. But, just like VP, gameplay, battle mode and Sakuraba soundtrack fixed this.
BTW Sakuraba ussually reuses some notes from one game to another. This is a good example:

I agree! Valkyrie Profile is a severely underrated franchise.
The voice acting was a little crude like many other PS1 games. Full on voices in video games was sort of a new thing back in the day. There wasn’t any solid standards in that regards, people just read of the script that were given to them without taking into the consideration of the moods of each scene like they do now. Heck, video games were still a niche thing, a toy in the 90s.
BUT the PS1 was spectacular with 2 games, effects, and music. There’s this tone of the music in most games on the PS1 that has its charm. Tales Of Destiny OST - Bare Its Fangs
@IceKitsune
So yeah taggers with chisels. Heck we have love graffiti in Pompei that reads “I am in live with a girl”. Plenty of ancient stuff was meaningless and dumb because that’s how humanity is.
This was a nice little shout out. And in the show canon, you could just easily say that Rockhoof or some bored Pony wrote it there for fun. Which by the way happens a lot in real life as well. Tons of ancient carvings on things are just “__ was here” or various other stupid pointless things.

They say one should not speak unkindly of the dead, so I say “Nice try!”
God, this game needs a remake now xD

Their souls have been released. We have no more business here!
There’s also graffiti there onishing someone for giving oral sex to women “like a dog”, so declarations of love are tame by comparison.

Divine Assault! Nibelung Valesti!
Such is your fate!
