It was suposed to be a mix between LOL and Rock (even though their songs are more or less techno pop) with an I in the middle, but obviously it didn’t work out. The creators of Totally Spies, a/the screenwriter of Kim Possible and some people from Miraculous Ladybug (including its creator) are in the staff. It’s like watching a magical girl anime version of MLP, possibly due to the VAs.

I blame time in the EqG world being slightly longer than the pony one. It’s a bit similar to something about LoliRock (to the ones who don’t know it: a French-Canadian series whose English version stars Kazumi Evans, Ashleigh Ball and Tabitha St. Germain as the heroines’ speaking voices and Kelly Sheridan, Vincent Tong and Mackenzie Grey as the villains), where a year in Ephedia (the land where the heroines come from) is three times smaller than Earth’s. The only difference is that Ephedians may age slightly slower than humans after a certain age, but the time difference between words is pretty much the same.

As with Ponies however. It’s kind of hard to tell the age of fillies and colts as they all pretty much look to be the same sizes and have similar faces in the Pony realm.
CMC are teenagers in the human world. Lily Pad, if she was to be sent to the Pon world, she’dprobably look similar in size as the CMC despite being noticeably younger than their human counterparts.
I dunno man.
In the Pony realm, Cheerilee is implied to be of similar age to the Mane 6 ponies. But she’s an adult who dated Big Mac, who’s status and age is questionable at best in the human realm.

Actually that child could be a basis for chubby children, but still counts. After all, the folks in the Equestria Girls universe seem to be equally (or even a bit more) diverse than the ones we see in Equestria!

We saw another kid about Lily’s age in Shake Things Up, ittedly only from the waist up but we still had an example prior to her.
Thanks to Lily Pad we got something to use as a basis for children, and now thanks to her (very possible) mother we probsbly got a basis for adult woman (with a few modifications in face shape). Their designs look really nice!
