@sixtyfour215 The story was always about aliens. The first game is about the aliens harvesting most oceanic life, with Ecco as one of the few not abducted, so he goes travels the ocean, goes to Atlantida, back in time, gains superpowers, back to the present, and into the alien spaceship (The last level) where he fights the alien queen herself.
The second game features the aliens more prominently, not just in the las level.
Not counting Ecco Jr., wich was made for kids, the games are supposed to be bizarre and stuff, that’s part of what makes them awesome.
