Freudian slip refers to an accidental error of something you don’t want to convey but accidentally do it anyway. – If I’ve understood that correctly, then that’s the complete opposite to what I’m looking for:
It should be intentional, and something you want to convey.

Yes, artistic license; it’s closer to what I’m looking for, however, it does also cover parodies. – What I’m looking for might not have its own term; it’s more a subset of artistic license, but limited only to improving the understanding of the piece, but not making fun of it.
A different example is to group all unique buildings from a city together to better convey which city it is, even though those buildings are far from each other. – Artistic license does allow that, but it also allows you to replace the buildings with different ones, which wouldn’t help telling which city it is, which isn’t what I’m looking for.
